Perry’s Mea Culpa—–He Regrets Once Calling for Abolishing Energy Department

RickPerry

Former Texas Governor Rick Perry might have learned something from watching the confirmation hearings of other Trump nominees, especially that of Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt.

Opening his hearing to become the Energy Secretary in the Donald Trump administration, Perry immediately said he regretted something he said 5 years ago.  That was when he said the Energy Department should be abolished.

Now that he’s been nominated to be the man to run the Department, Perry has had a change of heart and said so as he testified before the U.S. Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

He then said he believes in climate change and “some caused by man.”

But Perry also said quickly that actions by the Energy Department should also seriously consider the impact on the nation’s economy.
