Tulsa-based ONEOK has gone to court in Washington, D.C. appealing a $732,000 fine from a 2008 fire at its operations in Bushton, Kansas.

The company is asking the D.C. Circuit to review the actions taken last fall by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.

As OK Energy Today reported in October 2016, the fine was against ONEOK NGL Pipeline, L.P., ONEOK NGL Pipeline LLC and ONEOK Underground Storage Company LLC.

No one was hurt in the fire but investigators found 15 violations of pipeline safety regulations.

This week, ONEOK Hydrocarbon LLP, ONEOK Underground Storage and ONEOK NGL Pipeline sent notices to PHMSA and the U.S. Department of Transportation of their petitions to appeal the orders.
