Oklahoma U.S. Sen. James Lankford says it could be nearly two more weeks before Attorney General Scott Pruitt is confirmed to be the new Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

It’s what he said in an interview with OK Energy Today and he blamed the stall tactics of Democrats in the Senate.

“This will be something that will move in the days ahead. In the next two weeks, the vast majority of Trump’s cabinet officials will be moved and will be approved,” said Lankford.

But he had criticism for what Democrats are doing.

“Continually, Democrats continue to say they haven’t had enough time. Wanta be able to ask even more questions. This is a stall tactic because they changed the rules years ago on nominations and so now they know they can’t stop the nominaton and they’re trying to stall the nomination process.”

How are they doing it?  By flooding the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee with questions.

As OK Energy Today pointed out earlier, Pruitt was asked 206 questions during his four rounds of his confirmation hearing at the Committee. But others hit the committee later.

“Scott Pruitt received right at a thousand questions for the record,” said Sen. Lankford. “Earlier, directors and administrators of the EPA didn’t face nearly that many questions.”

He said Democrats used the same tactic in fighting President Trump’s nominee for Education Secretary and flooded the committee with 1,100 questions.

Senator Lankford discussed the Pruitt nomination during an interview with Jerry Bohnen as they first talked about Trump’s decision on the Keystone XL pipeline.
