Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt’s wasting little time in pumping hands and seeking support for confirmation to take over the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency. He met Tuesday in Washington with Oklahoma U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe who was chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and is now its senior member.

It was said to be Pruitt’s first meeting on Capitol Hill since being nominated by President-elect Donald Trump.

“Scott Pruitt is the ideal candidate to lead the EPA,” said Inhofe after their meeting. “Pruitt has seen first-hand the abuses of power at the hands of this agency and has fought back to ensure environmental quality without sacrificing jobs.”

The Senator said he’ll work with the new Committee chairman “to move Scott’s nomination swifly and fairly through the committee and to the Senate floor.”
