HollyFrontier Takes Advantage of Refinery Downtime

Dallas-based HollyFrontier Corporation says while unplanned maintenance and cold weather affected some of its refinery operations, its Tulsa refinery is accelerating maintenance.

The Tulsa refinery experienced rate reduction in December because of unplanned issues with its reforming units. The company indicated it is taking advantage of the down time.

The work will focus on the East Crude Unit at Tulsa and other units originally planned for late 2017. The company will also take the opportunity to upgrade catalyst in the Catalytic Reforming Unit with the latest technology.

As a result of the maintenance, both planned and unplanned, HollyFrontier expects crude oil throughput for the fourth quarter 2016 to average between 425,000 and 435,000 barrels a day.

The company also has refinery operations in El Dorado, Kansas; Artesia, New Mexico; Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Woods Cross, Utah.
