Pruitt ‘right person to fix EPA’?

Count Justin Haskins as a supporter of Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to be head of the Environmental Protection Agency under the new Donald Trump administration.

Haskins happens to be Executive Editor of the Chicago-based Heartland Institute and calls Pruitt “the right person to fix broken EPA.”

Writing in the Sunday edition of The Oklahoman, Haskins wrote that a fair-minded examination of Pruitt’s record and the EPA’s recent reckless and harmful actions prove he is the “perfect person for the job.”

“Some argue Pruitt is unfit to serve as EPA administrator because he received funding from the fossil fuel industry, but this is nothing more than partisan politics. During the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton’s campaign and super PACs received millions in donations from oil, gas and coal companies,” wrote Haskins.

He believes that under Pruitt’s leadership, the EPA will continue to carry out its functions of protecting the quality of land, water and air “without all the absurdities and dangerous overreach.”
