An Oklahoma Corporation Commission Administrative Law Judge on Friday reduced Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co.’s rate increase by nearly $20 million, according to The Oklahoman.

ALJ Ben Jackson issued a one-page errata stating when his figures “were run through the accounting process, an incorrect total was inadvertently reported” on a summary page.

OK Energy Today reported on December 9 that ALJ Jackson originally recommended a rate increase of $60.3 million for the electric utility. Based on Friday’s filing, the ALJ has revised the amount down to $40.7 million.

“It is important to note the numbers below do not reflect any changes to the adjustments laid out in the ALJ report,” said Jackson in the filing. “They simply reflect the corrected application of the ALJ’s proposals.”

OG&E proposed doubling a monthly customer service charge to more than $26 while reconfiguring residential bills to explain their system costs. The electric utility also proposed lowering the kilowatt hourly rates in exchange for the higher monthly customer service charge.

OG&E requested an increase of $92.5 million more than a year ago. By the end of June 2016, OG&E implemented an interim rate increase of $69.5 million. Interim rates are subject to refund with interest.

ALJ Jackson also recommended that the electric utility should embark on a pilot program for its billing reconfiguration.

The three commissioners have not yet scheduled a vote following the ALJ’s recommendation.
