U.S. Steel Honors Harold Hamm With 2016 Chief Roughneck Award at IPAA Meeting

U.S. Steel Tubular Products, Inc. recognized Harold Hamm as the recipient of the 2016 Chief Roughneck Award.  The announcement was made at the 87th annual meeting of the Independent Petroleum Association of America held in Sea Island, Georgia on Friday.

“Harold is a tireless advocate for America’s energy independence,” said David Rintoul, U.S. Steel senior vice president of tubular business.  “He is a fighter, not only for our industry and his company, but also for the success of others.  He personally devotes his time and resources to championing a healthy and secure future for all Americans.  This steadfast commitment makes him a perfect choice for the 2016 Chief Roughneck Award.”

Presented every year since 1955, the bronze bust and hard hat award is a lifetime achievement recognition honoring an individual whose accomplishments and character best represent the highest ideals of the oil and gas industry. It symbolizes the spirit, determination, leadership and integrity of honored energy industry executives.
