As oil production in Oklahoma is on the upswing, the downturn is still taking away revenue and production in what once was one of the biggest oil producing sections of the country—-North Dakota’s Bakken play.

The North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources reports September production dropped by more than 10,000 barrels, doing from more than 982,000 barrels a day in August down to about 972,000 in September. It was the second straight month that oil production in North Dakota fell below 1 million barrels a day.
