Despite being named as a key energy advisor to Republican president-elect Donald Trump, Oklahoma oilman Harold Hamm said Wednesday he will remain at the helm of Continental Resources Inc.

Hamm communicated his sentiments to his employees via email on Wednesday.

“As excited as I am to see this change come to Washington, D.C., I remain committed to you, our company and the city,” said Hamm, in the company email. “Our efforts to help President Trump get elected have been about creating a better working environment for the oil industry and Continental Resources, but our focus remains on building this great company.”

The Continental Resources founder and CEO accompanied Trump during many of his campaign speeches as a hand-picked ally of Trump’s 13-member advisory team. The energy executive also spoke at the party’s Republican National Convention in July.

Trump is in the process of formalizing his cabinet. His transition team is now led by vice president-elect Mike Pence.
