Protesters opposing the Dakota Access Pipeline will hold a demonstration on Tuesday morning at the SkyDance Bridge near downtown Oklahoma City. Protesters will gather at 9 a.m. with a march to follow at 10 a.m.

The local demonstration is intended to show solidarity and support with those at the Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota.

The tribe contends the pipeline under construction by Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners will contaminate drinking water supplies on the reservation and destroy sacred historic and cultural sites.
