Oklahoma now has some of the cheapest gasoline in the U.S. as the statewide average fell 3 more cents to reach a $1.85 a gallon, according to the latest report from AAA Oklahoma.

The organization headlined its press release, “Oklahoma’s Gas Prices today Are the envy of the Nation.”

“Out on the road, Thanksgiving motorists will find higher gasoline prices anywhere they drive outside Oklahoma,” said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “Not only is Oklahoma’s pump price average the lowest of the 50 states, it’s also a full nickel below the three states that are tied for second place.”

Those three are Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri, each with an average of $1.90 a gallon. The average in Texas is $1.92 while motorists in New Mexico pay $2.04 and Colorado drivers are seeing $2.07 at the pump.

Only one city in Oklahoma has an average price above $2 and that is Guymon where the average is $2.007, just barely above $2.

Lawton is cheapest with an average of $1.72 while Enid ‘s average is $1.74. Muskogee is at $1.76 and the average in Shawnee is $1.77.  Tulsa’s average is $1.77 while the average in Oklahoma City is $1.82.
