WindWaste Targets Oklahoma’s Wind Industry Again

An anti-wind group based in Claremore has resumed its public fight with the wind industry, sending out mailers claiming Oklahoma is at risk to blow $5.2 billion on corporate handouts to the Wind Industry.

WindWaste.com, led by the Oklahoma Property Rights Association with an address of P.O. Box 986 in Claremore urged voters, “Let’s stop writing massive checks to the wind industry.”

The mailer charged, “The multi-billion dollar wind industry is running off with $5.2 billion in tax subsidies while paying Zero Dollars in Oklahoma income tax.”

The card described WindWaste as an “affiliated group focused on educating citizens about the impact Industrial Wind has on property rights and Oklahoma’s budget.”

Two years ago, Frank C. Robson, a commercial real estate developer in Claremore who is also the brother-in-law of Walmart founder Sam Walton, discussed the formation of the anti-wind group. He explained it was formed to fight a proposed wind farm in Craig County where his family has a 15,000-acre ranch.

Attempts by OK Energy Today to get a response from WindWaste were not answered.
