The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission’s recent report that the downturn in Oklahoma’s oil and gas industry might have hit bottom might be supported by Halliburton.

The Houston, Texas based company opened a job fair this week in Yukon at the Yukon Event Center. Its sign advertising job openings for mechanical and electronic technicians.

Inside, applicants filled out paperwork for available positions with the company.

“Bunches,” replied one Halliburton employee when  asked by OK Energy Today how many workers the company would be hiring. He indicated the job fair was part of a growing effort by the company to expand its workforce.

The company declined further comment.
