“Networking is priceless. Can’t put a value on it, especially right now. It’s a great show, it really is.”  Pat Brown, on SOER’s 20th annual Expo.

From small operators to large producers, they will gather Thursday in Oklahoma City for the 20th annual Oklahoma Oil and Gas Expo.  And Bristow independent oilman Pat Brown, a former chairman of the show thinks it’s a must-do event for anyone in the industry.

“A great day to get out and see new technology, new faces, new companies—just to keep yourself in the know of what’s happening in the industry,” he explained in an interview with OK Energy Today. “Networking is priceless. Can’t put a value on it, especially right now.”

The show will begin at 9 a.m. and continue through 4 p.m. at the Oklahoma State Fair Park. In the past, it’s attracted an estimated 3,500 attendees who also get to dine this year on a complimentary Head Country BBQ lunch.

The Expo is hosted by the Committee for Sustaining Oklahoma’s Energy Resources or SOER, a group that is part of the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board.

“No other place you can go and in six hours see what’s going on in the whole spectrum of the industry–a one-stop shop,” added Brown who expects to see new products focusing on lowering the costs of exploration and production and marketing.

“How will you lower your costs, economically, safely and increase profit margins. I would think that’s what we’ll see,” he said. “How can we help—from the guy that makes 2 barrels a day to the guy who makes a thousand plus–how can we help them economically.”
