The family of late oil tycoon, Aubrey McClendon, is selling the remainder of his wine collection valued at nearly $8 million, according to a report in Fort Worth’s Star-Telegram.

The massive collection includes more than 4,600 fine bottles of Le Pin, Pétrus, Cult Napa Cabernet and Mouton Rothschild wine, including large format bottles.

“I think it’s pretty incredible, when you look at the wines he has. He really honed in on the best stuff and he bought large quantities of it,” said Ben Nelson, president of Chicago’s Hart Davis Hart Wine Co., the auction house that’s conducting the sale.

Online bidding will open on Thursday while the auction will be held September 17 at Chicago’s TRU Restaurant. The wine is divided into 1,058 lots, according to the Star-Telegram.

McClendon died in a fiery single car crash at NE 122 and Midwest Boulevard in March. The crash occurred less than 24 hours after an Oklahoma City federal grand jury indictment was unveiled against McClendon, accusing him of bid-rigging charges.

McClendon previously sold $2.2 million worth of wine from his collection in 2009, according to the Wall Street Journal.
