Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy is reported to have made a $9 million settlement offer with the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport over a lawsuit that accused the energy company of failing to drill more wells on airport property.

The Fort Worth Star Telegram reports the airport is considering the offer in which Chesapeake would pay $8 million to the airport and a $1 million royalty payment. Chesapeake also offered to plug and abandon several wells and decommission a pipeline.

The offer is under consideration by city leaders this week.
