U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-New Mexico) will host an Energy Summit in Albuquerque, New Mexico to discuss storage strategies for industry and national security on Tuesday, August 23. The event is free and open to the general public. Guest speakers include representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy, AES Energy Storage and Tesla.

Heinrich, a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources, introduced the Energy Storage Tax Incentive and Deployment Act last month. The measure would establish investment tax credits for business and residential energy storage.

Heinrich also introduced the Energy Storage Promotion and Deployment Act to create America’s first energy storage standard. He’s also a co-sponsor of the Securing Energy Infrastructure Act to protect critical U.S. energy infrastructure form potentially catastrophic cyberattacks.
