Continental Completes New Record-Breaking Well in STACK, New Multi-Well Test Being Planned

Continentalresources

As was announced on our Completion Reports for Wednesday, Continental Resources recently completed the Madeline well in Section 9-16N-12W of Blaine County.  The Madeline, which is two miles west of Watonga and two miles north, produced initial production of 2513 barrels of oil and 6148 MCF’s of gas.

The Madeline well narrowly nudged Continental’s previous record-breaking well, the Verona, also in Blaine County, which was reported on May 14.  It produced 2345 barrels of oil and 5966 MCF’s of gas in its initial production report.

OK Energy Today has also learned from a royalty owner in the Verona acreage, that Continental is preparing pads to begin drilling a new high density drilling into the Verona acreage.  The Verona well is just one mile east of the Ludwig test wells, where a 9-unit test is currently being completed. Conventional wisdom tells OK Energy Today that the Ludwig test was successful, prompting the multiple well drilling operation into the Verona acreage.

Can the Madeline acreage not be far behind?

Does this confirm that CHL’s future drilling operations in hot areas of the STACK will all be multi-density wells?
