What Donald Trump says about energy gets the attention, pro or con from oil and gas people in Oklahoma, Texas and other fossil-fuel producing states, especially if it concerns fracking.

His recent comments about supporting voters who want to control fracking caught the attention of the Dallas Observer and reporter Christian McPhate.

He reached out to anti-fracking leaders in north Texas, where much of the movement started around Denton, to see if Trump’s comments received widespread support.

One fracking opponent responded by saying Trump had a lot of room for improvement.

““But that’s like saying that a turd on my shoe didn’t get smeared on that carpet.”
