Oklahoma Energy Firms in Forbes’ Top 10 List

At least three Oklahoma energy companies are considered to be in the top ten oil and gas firms in the U.S. following the most recent second quarter earnings reports, according to Forbes magazine.

While ConocoPhillips, now based in Houston is ranked number one with a market capitalization of $54 billion, Oklahoma City-based EOG Resources Inc. came in second with market capitalization of $45.9 billion.

Devon Energy was 6th with Market Cap of $19 billion. Continental Resources was 8th with $18.9 billion in capitalization. Noble Energy, founded in Ardmore and now headquartered in Houston was 10th with a market cap of $15.4 billion.

But of the Oklahoma companies, Devon had the highest amount of earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization
