The special state commission tasked with reviewing the dozens of tax credit programs including those involving wind and oil and gas energy in the state meets again this week.

The Incentive Evaluation Commission chaired by Lyle Roggow will meet Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Room 419-C of the Stat Capitol building.

The agenda shows there will be subcommittee reports , a presentation by consultant Randall Bauer and discussion and possible action regarding evaluation criteria for the 2016 incentive evaluations.

The issue of tax credits drew critical discussion in the past legislative session as legislators scrounged for money for different state agencies.  Some were critical of the tax credits doing to wind farms while others opposed and eventually reduced credits going to certain distressed oil wells.

In last month’s meeting, as reported by OK Energy Today, the commission detailed which credits would get the most attention this year. Those receiving a first-year emphasis and review include an Aerospace Engineer Tax Credit; another for electricity generated by zero emission facilities; and one for manufacturers of advanced small wind turbines. At least eleven credits will be reviewed by the Commission in its first year of work and members will decide whether they should be replaced, repealed or reformed before the start of the 2017 legislative session.
