NRC Plans Meeting to Discuss Regulatory Activities

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will meet with various stakeholders on Tuesday, July 26 in order to hear public comments and perspectives on the NRC’s regulatory activities, according to a press release issued on Monday.

The 9 a.m. meeting will occur at the NRC Auditorium located at 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The meeting will be available via webcast.

“The unique format of this meeting will provide the Commission a rare and valuable opportunity to meet at the same time with a diverse set of participants on a potentially broad array of topics,” said Chairman Stephen Burns. “I am looking forward to hearing perspectives on the agency from our invitees and I feel confident that the meeting will inform the NRC’s ongoing efforts to take a fresh look at how it does business.”

Stakeholder participants will include public interest groups, Native American tribes, nuclear power plant operators, new reactor vendors and state officials, according to the press release.
