Two groups of individuals voluntarily dismissed their lawsuits against Oklahoma City-based oil and natural gas companies on Thursday, but pledged to refile their claims soon, according to a NewsOK report issued by Adam Wilmoth.

In February, Lisa Griggs and April Marler as well as Brenda and Jon Darryn Lene filed lawsuits in Logan County, Oklahoma against Chesapeake Operating LLC, New Dominion LLC, Devon Energy Production Co. LP and SandRidge Exploration and Production LLC, claiming the energy companies caused earthquakes that led to personal property damage.

“We’re not going away,” said attorney Scott Poynter. “We’re going to work with our clients in deciding the best course of action from here on out. But we’re not going anywhere. We’re going to be back in court soon.”

The lawsuit may be refiled within a year according to state law. Poynter expects to refile the action in late summer or fall.

“We can come back with more detailed allegations. That’s what we intend to do,” said Poynter. “We’ll work with our experts and provide an even more detailed complaint when we refile.”
