Big Gas Wells Drilled in SE Oklahoma

Among the latest moderately producing big wells in the state are two gas wells in Hughes County,  Tulsa-based Petroquest Energy LLC reports two big gas wells near the community of Lamar.

The largest is producing 3,884 mcf of natural gas. The LYNN well is in the Woodford play and had a January 12 spud date with drilling finished April 10 and completion on May 26.

The second Petroquest Energy operation was the LYNN 2 well in the same area and again in the Woodford formation. It had a Jan. 9 spud date with drilling finished April 2 and completion on June 7 with production of 3,373 mcf of natural gas.

Chesapeake Energy brought in three oil wells in Kingfisher county, all in the same area located 2 miles north of State Highway 3 and midway between the city of Kingfisher and the Chisholm Trail Technology Center. The CALVIN well produced 792 barrels a day along with 1,994 mcf of natural gas. Spud date was April 18 followed by the finish of drilling on May 6 and completion dated June 8.

The RAPTOREX produced 772 barrels a day along with natural gas of 1,764 mcf. Spud date was March 10 and drilling finished on March 29 followed by completion on June 7.

Another RAPTOREX well produced 620 barrels daily. It had 1,944 mcf of natural gas. Its spud date was March 31 while drilling finished on April 17 and completion occurred on June 13.
