Cessna Delivers 7,000th Citation

Cessna just delivered its 7,000th Cessna Citation business jet this week, turning over the midsize business jet to NetJets, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company. The Wichita, Kansas based company is now a subsidiary of Textron Aviation, Inc.

The planes are used worldwide by many oil and gas companies that move crews and engineers from site to site.

Company executives announced this week they have added 50 more options to the initial order place in 2012, bringing its total order and options up to 200 aircraft.

Cessna delivered its first Citation in 1972 and since then, the model has become the most popular line of business jets in the world. The planes in service has more than 35 million flight hours of operation.

The newest model is the Citation Latitude which has a maximum range of 2,850 nautical miles, allowing it to fly non-stop from Los Angeles to New York. Cessna began deliveries of the Latitude last August and has delivered 23 to customers around the world through the first quarter of 2016.cessnacitation
