Wind and Solar Power Projects in North Dakota and Michigan

Solar and wind power projects are the focus in North Dakota and Michigan. The North Dakota Public Service Commission plans a public hearing on a proposed $153 million wind farm and associated electric transmission line in Oliver and Morton counties. The 48-turbine wind farm is proposed by a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources. Should it be approved, the wind farm will be located on 34 square miles and produce up to 100 megawatts of power,.

In Michigan, construction has started on an Indiana Michigan Power solar power project. It’s located in southwestern Michigan on a 35-acre site in Berrien County. An estimated 50,000 solar panels will be used to produce enough electricity to power 650 homes a year.
