Appliance maker Whirlpool says it is spending millions of dollars to install wind turbines at two of its plants in Ohio.

The Michigan-based corporation plans to spend $13.5 million to bring wind energy to plants in Ottawa and Marion, Ohio. The company said it expects the turbines to offer electricity consumption by 34 percent at the Ottawa plant where freezers are manufactured.
