Out-of-Work Coal Miners in Kentucky to be Retrained by Federal Government

With the Obama administration carrying out a war on the coal industry, now the government is granting more than $3 million to help retrain unemployed coal miners in Kentucky.

The U.S. Department of Labor announced it funded the $3.4 million grant to help thousands of Kentucky coal miners. But the National Dislocated worker Grant will specifically only retrain about 800 workers.

It means the Labor Department has funded more than $17 million to the program since 2013, helping 3,200 out-of-work coal miners.
