DEQ Taking Comments or Requests for State Implementation Plan Under Clean Air Act

DEQ

Oklahoma’s Department of Environmental Quality says it is taking public comments and any requests for a public hearing on a proposed Infrastructure State Implementation Plan under the Clean Air Act.

The SIP is for the 2012 Primary Fine Particulate Matter National Ambient Air Quality Standard. The DEQ will take requests for hearing until 10 a.m. on June 6 and comments until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8 for the “infrastructure” review of implementing the 2012 changes.

If there are no requests for a hearing, then a notice of hearing cancellation will be posted on the DEQ website on June 6, 2016.

Sections of the Clean Air act require that each state review and revise as necessary its State Implementation Plan following the promulgation of a new or revised National Ambient Air Quality Standard. Oklahoma’s participation procedures for the SIP submittals were submitted to the EPA for review
