Oklahoma’s Gas Prices Average Just Under $2

Gasoline prices in Oklahoma are just pennies under the $2 mark and show an increase of 14 cents in the past four week, according to this week’s Fuel Gauge Report from AAA Oklahoma.  The new average is $1.96 a gallon, a level that the state hasn’t seen since mid-November of 2015. It compares to the new national average of $2.22 a gallon.

“Even with today’s higher statewide average, Oklahomans are paying less at the pump than residents of any other state,” said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “In fact, motorists need to know that only four states have a gas price average below $2 today and they’re all in our region: Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri and Kansas.”

The average in Texas is $1.98 while in Missouri, it’s at $1.99, same as Kansas.

Idabel has the lowest average in the state at $1.899 while Stillwater continues with the highest average at $2.02 a gallon. Prices in Tulsa average $1.94 while those in Oklahoma City are $1.96. While Idabel still is lowest, its prices jumped an average of 9 cents a gallon in the past week.

Around the state, Altus has an average of $1.94. Bartlesville is at $1.97 while the average in Guymon is $1.91. Prices in McAlester average $1.94 and Muskogee’s average is $1.93.
