Sen. Inhofe to Lead Budget Hearing into Nuclear Regulatory Commission

U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe and others on the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will hold a hearing April 6 into the President’s proposed 2017 budget for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

It will begin at 9 a.m. Oklahoma time as Sen. Inhofe chairs the committee hearing entitled “Oversight Hearing: The President’s FY 2017 Budget Request for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.”

The committee announcement indicated the hearing is to examine the budget and among the witnesses will be four representatives of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

They include: Stephen Burns, chairman of the commission; Kristine Svinicki, commissioner at the NRC; Williams Ostendorff, another commissioner; and Jeffrey Baran, also a commissioner from the NRC.
