Packed Church for Aubrey McClendon’s Memorial Service

Hundreds were on hand this week for the funeral of Oklahoma energy leader Aubrey McClendon. Among those who spoke during the Monday morning services were Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett and former Gov. Frank Keating.

“I don’t think I ever walked away from a conversation with Aubrey when I didn’t feel like a little better of a person,” said Mayor Cornett as he addressed the stand-room only crowd at the Crossings Community Church where the memorial service was held.

It was last Wednesday when the 56-year old McClendon died in a traffic crash a day after his indictment on bid-rigging charges. Police indicate they might have a report available next week on what perhaps caused the fatal crash.
