Harold Hamm To Be Inducted into Horatio Alger Association

Continental Resources Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Harold Hamm can add a new title, inductee to the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans. Horatio Alger, Jr. was an author who focused on the merits of honest, courage and perseverance as the means to success. The association inducts individuals who demonstrate those merits. Hamm is a member of the class of 2016.

“The 2016 New members are an inspiring group of men and women who, despite facing serious adversity, have achieved great success,” said Horatio Alger Association President and Chief Executive Officer Byron Trott. “Mr. Hamm learned the value of hard work at a young ago and it was his determined spirit and unwavering confidence that allowed him to build a remarkable business. We are certain that he will become an invaluable Member of this Association.”

The Association also awards scholarships to promising students with an admirable commitment to continuing their education and serving their communities. Two Oklahoma students will receive $22,000 scholarships. They are Austin Albumohammed of Vici High School and Kennedee Thorne of MacArthur High School in Lawton.

Hamm will be inducted into the Association during a three-day event in Washington, D.C. which starts on March 31st. A total of 13 individuals will be inducted this year.
