State’s Gasoline Prices Keep Dropping

As oil prices fell to their lowest levels in eight years this week, gasoline prices continued their downward spiral in Oklahoma as the state reached a new average of $1.69 a gallon, the second cheapest gasoline in the nation according to AAA Oklahoma’s weekly Fuel Gauge Report. The new average for Oklahoma is 5 cents cheaper than one week ago.

Oklahoma has the second lowest gasoline average in the nation, right behind Missouri where the average is $1.64. Drivers in 36 states are paying an average of less than $2 a gallon at the pump and retail averages in 10 states are at or below the $1.75 average benchmark. California has the most expensive gasoline at an average of $2.85 a gallon.

Lawton and Muskogee have the lowest averages in the state at $1.58 a gallon while the averages in Shawnee and Tulsa are $1.59.

Oklahoma City’s average is down 7 cents at $1.68. Other averages include $1.65 in Altus; $1.61 in Bartlesville; $1.68 in McAlester and $1.67 in Ponca City. The highest average is $1.75 in Idabel while Stillwater’s average is second highest at $1.73 a gallon.
