Right before a trial was to start this week between oilman T. Boone Pickens and his son Michael Pickens, the two came to a settlement. The younger Pickens claimed his father didn’t pay him more than $15 million for work performed and failed to transfer interest in companies. The elder Pickens filed countersuits claiming Michael Pickens defamed him and tried to extort money.
As jury selection got underway in Dallas County Court, the judge overseeing the case ordered the father and son to try mediation one last time. The two ended up striking a settlement.
The terms of that settlement have not been disclosed.
