Houston, Texas-based Marathon Oil reports some success in southern Oklahoma with a more than 1,000-barrel-a-day well. The latest completion reports, as published on OK Energy Today, shows Marathon hit the well about 7 miles southeast of Lindsays.
The spud date was Aug. 21 and drilling was finished Sept. 28. Completion was dated Oct. 31 and the well produced 1,021 barrels of oil a day along with 1,217 mcf of natural gas from the Springer formation.
Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Operating brought in a 677-barrel a day oilwell in Blaine County. The well is located 3 miles east of the town of Hitchcock.
