Tulsa Energy Firms Join Quality Jobs Program

Two more energy companies are participating in the Oklahoma Quality Jobs Program, qualifying for nearly $16 million in incentive payments as they create 459 jobs in the coming decade. The Oklahoma Commerce Department oversees the Quality Jobs Program and says the T.D. Williamson Inc. pipeline equipment company qualified for $6.8 million in payments as it creates 250 jobs in Tulsa in the next 10 years.

Midstates Petroleum Co., an exploration and production company in Tulsa says 229 jobs will be created in the coming decade and it has qualified for up to $8.9 million in Quality Jobs payments.

The state will give the firms cash payments to locate and expand in Oklahoma—payments based on payroll numbers. The Quality Jobs Program was started in 1993 and has paid out more than $871 million in wage rebates.
