Corporation Commission Attorney Honored With Energy Law Award

After 32 years working with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, attorney Michael Decker’s been honored with the Eugene Kuntz Award at the 19th Annual Kuntz Conference on Natural Resources Law and Policy in Oklahoma City.

The Director of Administrative Proceedings for the Commission, Decker got his start as an oil and gas attorney. His division now handles more than 40,000 cases a year in oil and gas, public utilities, consumer services and transportation. He also has a full case load as a Commission judge and oversees the Division’s more than 30 employees including 14 Administrative Law Judges.

The conference was attended by more than 500 people at the Cox Convention Center. The Eugene Kuntz award is given by the University of College of Law, recognizing and honoring a lawyer “who has made significant contributions to energy law.” The award honors the latest Eugene Kuntz who was a long-time OU law professor and noted authority on energy law.
